No Spend September- GYSTS14

I really have no clue if this is a thing or not but I am making it!

I have an online shopping problem. Like big time.

Slow at work, hop on or Sometimes even It just depends on my mood. However, this browsing does eventually lead to purchasing which isn't good on my wallet.

I have a goal of being debt free (student loans and credit cards) by 35. So therefore I have to keep myself from buying the non essentials.

Sure those yoga pants are nice but do I really need them?

Okay so here is the list of things I am allowed to buy:
-Groceries (Obvi)
-Diapers (Although potty training seems to be getting closer!)
-Gas for vehicles
-Emergency Situations (God willing there are none)

That is it. Nothing more nothing less.

Also if you read my other blog you will see that I am Getting My Sh*t Together September. This is just an extension of that. Not only did I slack on working out and eating right I've slacked on my finances too which is not good.

So here is my plan. Putting it out there for the world to read.

  1. I have the same issue! I can do some serious damage with my Gap credit card that I got suckered into opening. Please let me know how this detox goes!!

  2. This sounds AWESOME, Megan! I will need to hop on the train a month after you, though, as I just bought a purple ink pad for Felicia yesterday (to be fair, I was buying 2 ink pads for birthday gifts for our twin niece/nephew and there was a deal that you got 15% off if you bought 3 or more AND Felicia just started using stamps during her art time and I only had black ink at home!). Ha! I know that kind of reasoning is exactly how so many of us get into trouble buying stuff we don't need! Anyhow, sounds like a great thing, so I will have to try it when I have a fresh month in October. Our goal is to be debt free (we're good on credit cards, but have a lot in student loans still, ugh!) within 2 years (we're a little older than you!). Can't wait to read more about this as September rolls along!
