So I had my 38 week appointment today, No double duty this week due to the holidays but that is fine with me. Today, in stead of a NST we got to have an ultrasound. This is obviously the very last one before Peanut gets here. Everything looked great with her, she is head down and ready to rock and roll. However, when they gave us her weight measurement is measuring at 8lbs 13oz. Umm yea hello big healthy baby right! My plan the entire time was to have her vaginally which still could happen but this was the first time the Dr. mentioned C-section. Obviously, if my or her health/safety were at risk it would be a no brainer. However, I would still like to try vaginal first. I will be 39 weeks next week and I go back on Wednesday so just more waiting.

At my u/s a week ago, they told me that the measurements from ultrasounds later in pregnancy are not very accurate...they can be 20% off in either direction! So, Peanut could really be closer to 7lb! Hopefully you'll be able to deliver vaginally...my sister had her son vaginally and he weighed 9lb 7oz! She was just fine and so was he:) Keeping you and Peanut in my thoughts and prayers!
ReplyDeleteWe'll be thinking of you. I know a lady who had all naturual kids who were all in the 9lb range. Good luck with your peanut!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think those weight measurements can go either way! I hope you're able to get peanut here safe and sound....preferably the way you want :) You are gonna do great!
ReplyDeleteI wish that I had an ultrasound to look at how much our little man weighed that way I could've avoided 17 plus hours of labor! She will come the safest way possible - naturally or c section - and she is going to be the best thing you've done in your life. When you hear that little girl cry out for the first time and see her darling face you will forget everything that came before her! = )
